These are definite signs that your pipes are deteriorating. You can probably figure out what are the reasons for this sudden change due to the following factors listed below that contribute to the deterioration of the pipes.
1. Chemical Composition
We all probably know that in order to shape up the pipes as they are, the manufacturers use certain chemicals so that they will be formed into the shapes and curves they are supposed to be. However, when the chemicals from these pipes encounter other chemicals found in the water and they aren’t compatible, there can be a chemical reaction that is harmful to the pipeline. Some other chemicals may come from the ground that seeped through and found their way to the pipes. These cases are definitely inevitable since you won’t know for certain if you have accidentally poured some liquid into the ground without realising that they contain harmful chemicals that can destroy your pipes.
2. Water Temperature
Too much water pressure is definitely not good for the pipelines. No matter how durable and strong they may be, they can still get damaged if you keep on running a very high water pressure through the pipes. This can also break the pipes, especially if they are placed on an uneven surface. The continuous water flow can move the pipes that don’t have a stronghold and this may lead to cracks and leaks in the pipes.
3. Material of the Pipe
Since pipes are made from different manufacturers, there is a tendency that they will have different processes of making the pipes and use different materials, too. If your pipes are made from materials that contain compounds that are easy to break then this can be a big problem in the future. So before you choose the pipes for your plumbing system, make sure that their materials are guaranteed strong and long-lasting to avoid unnecessary bills over the long run.
4. pH of the Water
The water is not all plain water. It can either be acidic or alkaline. The pH of water sometimes leads to the destruction of the pipelines. If the water is measured 1pH then it is very acidic which means that it is not safe for drinking and definitely not safe for your pipes. So before you run through water into your pipes, make sure that the pH is measured in 7 as this is where the water is in neutral point.
